About Golden Squirrel
A Wee History and Context
Golden Squirrel was started by Chase and Jeff. We didn't know exactly what we wanted this all to be at first, but here's what we did know: there was a huge disconnect between the common hiring flow and the landscape of supply and demand for quality engineering talent.
We love engineers. Engineers are building the new world.
Basically, there's plenty of companies that were looking for engineers, but quality engineers are not generally in a desparate job search. The engineers that are looking for jobs are often frustrated with the process of finding them.
So we decided to do something about it. We started by building a platform that would help companies find the best engineers for their teams. We also built a platform that would help engineers find the best companies to work for.
It's like a dating site for engineers and companies, and companies have to show their profile, salary range and hiring flow first. That way, engineers know if a conversation is worth their time.
We wanted to turn the hiring process on its head. We wanted to provide humanity and transparency to the job hunt for engineers, so that employers were vetted before employees.
Our mission is to provide unique content that shows companies for who they are, who the people leading them are, and what they are like! Our goal is to provide a way for great companies to find great talent through real content that no on else has.
CJ the squirrel had always been an ambitious little creature. From a young age, he was determined to make his mark on the world and be the best at whatever he set his mind to. As he grew older, he began to develop a keen interest in technology and, in particular, software engineering.
